LFW: Jacob Kimmie at Vauxhall Fashion Scout

Jacob Kimmie returned to Freemasons Hall this season with a monochrome palette of baroque inspired yet appropriately modern pieces. Set to classical violins, the models drifted down the catwalk, as would ‘A catholic girl on her way to Catechism’.

Long sheer shapes, which billowed gracefully, were broken up by delicate ruffled fronts and a subtle dove print, which was used generously on draped dresses and tuxedos. The models, with sleek simple hair exuded serenity, a few carrying birdcages at their sides as their only accessory.

As the final model leaves the runway, a blast of Toccata & Fugue is mixed into ‘Run This Town’ by Rihanna and Jay-Z to give a dramatic finale to an inspiring show.
