Unconditional took to the Old Sorting Office again this season, to feature a collection that stayed true to their statement design aesthetic, whilst surprising with a very welcome surprise.
The brand again played with deconstructed tailoring for menswear, featuring dropped and overlapped crotch detail, whilst using patches of brown leather to complete a chic suit jacket. Womenswear featured drapery and loose fitting pieces, that flowed wonderfully whilst walking down the runway. Womenswear also experimented with androgyny with some latter looks looking more masculine, yet empowering the female wearer. Sheer fabrics made numerous appearances on female and male pieces, layered up looking effortlessly cool.
Many of the looks were accompanied by bondage-esque neck and wrist pieces, along with harnesses, further complimenting the sexy sailor theme apparent in the collection, including the words ‘Sex Toy’ printed on a nautical men’s jumper.
The most welcome surprise to the Unconditional show came from the use of electric, vibrant and astonishingly bright neon colours. Bright pinks, and canary yellows were used, completely standing out from the rest of the dusty collection. A colour blocked outfit of vibrant blue trousers mixed with a yellow vest and a green tote, show men can experiment with colour too. The popular dark cranberry/burgundy colour also featured, warming up the collection.
We love Unconditional here, and this collection felt like a healthy growth from the last collection, especially through the experiments with colour, which are a welcome addition to the brand.
