Design duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos showcased an Indonesian themed collection at the Spring/Summer 2012 Peter Pilotto show this season.
The inspiration for the collection came from a recent trip to Indonesia and this is seen through the bright colours and eclectic patterns used throughout on the pieces this season. Leaf prints in burnt reds and corals along with neon hues were prevalant.
Always known for the prints used, Pilotto added a further dimensions using embrodiery and beading on a few of the looks, injecting even more glam into the collection, yet providing a healthy development and growth to the label.
The pieces felt body conscious, hugging the torso in the right ways, whilst experimenting with skirt details, including the use of the peplum, whilst creating others that appeared like ball gowns, accentuating the hips.
The collection is bold and statement whilst building upon seasons past. We can’t wait to see what happens next.
