Michael Van Der Ham took to the catwalk with an extremely vibrant collection of crazy prints, mixed with slick tailoring and sophisticated dresses.
Much of the Van Der Ham show featured his signature material collages so prevalant with much of his previous work, only this time using imagery printed onto garments to give the idea of multiple material use. The prints them selves are used on smart blouse and wrap skirts, whilst the inclusion of tailored crop pants also feature.
The colour palette splashes variations of pastel colours throughout, but it’s the prints that truly make the garments stand out. Slick shift dresses feature clashing shoulder detail, whilst most of the other dresses and tops featured a created through the use of different patterned fabrics.
Overall, the pieces are slick yet the clashing prints and vibrancy they bring, mean this collection with definitely be a stand out for the next summer season, and show a welcome development to Van Der Ham’s skill.
